In Germany, it is a tradition every May Day (May 1st) to put up a May Pole in every city, but sometimes the neighborhoods put them up as well. Ours was put up just up the street. So we took a little walk to see the celebration.
These girls just make me smile.
When we got there the pole looked like this:
And then the hoisting started. It took quite a few men to put this up.
Pete arrived just in time for someone to say "Come-help!"

Great photos. I plan to attend the May Day celebration next year. I'm sorry I missed it. I LOVE the photos of Pete in his uniform helping raise the pole. Such a great memory of your time in Germany!
