Annie's Quest

Annie found an old pair of her shoes, and insisted on wearing them. This was the outcome.

January In a Nutshell

Plane rides, lots of snow, back to preschool, back to work, back to dentistry, 5 ear infections, 1 sinus infection, bronchitis, surgery, new smiles, crazy Annie, Noah's crafts hanging on the wall, wearing no jackets in 40 degrees, hitting 40 degrees below zero with the wind chill, shopping for formal dresses, calls from the Army, finding space for Christmas presents, new primary class and lots of random craziness.

Cooper is Three Months Old!

M&M's for Breakfast

Yesterday morning, while Annie and Cooper were still sleeping, I decided it would be a good time to take a shower. I gave Noah some hot chocolate and turned on some cartoons, and proceeded with my shower. When I got out, I could tell that Annie was awake, however I wasn't worried about her. If I can't get to Annie the minute she wakes up, Noah takes it upon himself to entertain her. So I got dressed and went into Annie's room to get her, and I realized she was eating something. I asked her what it was, and she responded, "tandy!" (candy). When I asked her where she got candy, she responded, "wowah tandy!" (Noah candy). So I came into the living room to find Noah on top of a chair, stealing peanut M&M's from a decorative glass candle jar I had. They really were for decoration! I asked Noah what he was doing, to which he responded, "I am getting Annie candy from these little candy jars!" So, lesson learned: don't use candy for a decoration when you have a child who can reach any heights, and likes to share.

Something New

It's time for a new post, but I just haven't had a second to breathe since we got home from Utah! While on the plane home, I realized Annie was sick (the radiating heat from her head gave it away). Cooper had a check-up the next day, so I just took Annie with me, and sure enough, she had a double ear infection! Fabulous!
Two days later, Coop started acting funny, so I took him back to the doc, and imagine, to my suprise- and ear infection AND a sinus infection! Super!!
Then, Noah, who has been to the doctor for an illness maybe three times in his life, started complaining about his ear. Well, since I had no idea what could be happening (duh) I took him to the doc. I walked in, and the doctor said "So I guess you just can't get enough of me, can you?" Sure enough, he had an ear infection. Could this get eny worse?
Yep. Pete had been fighting something the whole time we were in Utah, and I finally made him go to the doctor when we got home. He had been fighting bronchitis for a month. He was put on a Z-pack (I love those things) and three days later he was fine.
I had this goal when I got home to get to the gym everyday, which was going to be completely possible because of Noah's school schedule and my work schedule. We were going to be at the gym everyday except Sunday. No problem working out. Well, that idea was shot with an entirely sick family (I want to point out that I never got sick, thank you very much). So I got back this week, 4 times. Then I decided to go and have surgery on Friday. Now I get another two whole weeks of no excercise. And right after that two weeks is up, I start teaching two more classes. I probably will be out of breath in the first 5 minutes because I will have gone so long without working out! I am just a little irritated.
One of the reasons Iwanted to work out so much is because Pete has this Senior Ball that we are going to, and of course, it's formal dress. I wanted to look a little better than I do right now, after having a baby, but the ball is the same day I go back to excercising, so I guess that idea is shot, too.
So by the end of January, I am hoping things get back to normal, and the rest of the year isn't so crazy! We've had enough chaos to get through at least the first quarter of the year, right?
