Back in June, we promised Noah we would take him to Legoland for his birthday. There is one here in Germany, about 2 1/2 hours away. Well, we never could find a Saturday to go, so we waited until my birthday. Pete took the day off and we spent my 31st birthday at Legoland.
I woke up to this on my door. My neighbor is so awesome.
One of the first things you see when you walk into the park is this: It's all the major cities in Europe.
The whole thing is built out of legos.
Poor little lego dude...
There were some parts of the display that could be controlled by a handle, so the kids took turns making all the parts move.
This soccer stadium was amazing. There were flashing lights, banners scrolling up and down and screaming fans.
This is Neuschwanstein Castle.
There were a lot of rides, and we didn't get to ride all of them because of the long lines. Annie was just barely too short to ride the bigger rides, but she was a trooper and rode all the smaller rides with Cooper. She still had a blast.
A giant rainbow. It reminded me of all the old Skittles commercials.
Just across from the rainbow was a giant lego dinosaur, and every few minutes he spit some water on the unsuspecting walkers. The kids figured it out, and waited there to get wet.
On a little train high above the park. Coop was my ride buddy.
And Pete, Noah and Annie trailed behind us.
Annie took Cooper on the canoe.
We wandered back through the lego cities.....
...and realized there was an entire Star Wars exhibit.
They had re-created all the major scenes and battles from all the Star Wars episodes.

The next day when we woke up, he had re-created them.
There was a set up of random heads, including political figures and soccer players (yes, we are in Europe... soccer is the sport).
Pete came across this World Cup and had to do the victory scream.
Notice Annie on the other side, attempting to do the same.
Everything in the park was made to look like legos, and I got a kick out of these lego bricks.
So... I don't have many pictures of Noah on rides.... I mostly took Annie and Cooper on rides, while Pete took Noah.
Here they are waiting to go to driving school.
Once they were done, they were handed a drivers license. Scary.
We stopped in one of the little shops because we happened to notice those keychains with names on them.... and we found one that said Annika. We never see anything with Annie's full name on it, so we had to buy it. We also had to buy some pop rocks.
Those little things are sticky.
One last trip around the park on the lego train. After this we rode some more boats, got really wet on a pirate ship, and went on the Bionicle ride. On our way out we stopped in the big shop and grabbed some legos, mugs, shirts and cups.
This might have been my best birthday since having kids.
