Just a funny story.
I took Annie to the grocery store with me early this morning (everyone else was alseep and we had nothing else to do). The display outside was set up for fall, so there were a lot of pumpkins. I said "Annie, those are pumpkins." She thought I was saying "bonkins", like a bonkin' on the head, and so she started tapping her head like she bumped it. Later Noah and I went to an apple orchard and picked up some little pumpkins, so now every time she sees a pumpkin she taps her head. We think it's pretty cute.

My Greatest Challenge, My Greatest Joy
I have a friend who once described motherhood this way. I have always agreed with this statement, however tonight my eyes were opened to it.
Pete was gone studying for boards, so I was home with the kids getting them ready for bed. Noah asked for strawberry milk (his favorite drink ever) and before I could pour it he changed his mind and asked for hot chocolate... no problem. However as soon as I gave it to him, he wanted strawberry milk again. Since I am trying to teach him the consequences of his choices, I told him he had to have the hot chocolate or nothing. Well, that started a ripple of crying and screaming, which is only typical of Noah when he is really tired. So we fought for a while, and he ended up in time out. When he decided to calm down we sat down and talked about it. I always tell him that I love him, and that he is my favorite little boy, and in response he said "I love you too, mom. You're my favorite big girl." And with that he grabbed my face and kissed my cheek. That's when I completely understood the statement my friend had made.
Shortly after, Annie sat on my lap and rubbed my belly, after I told her the baby was in there. She then leaned over, hugged my belly, and then climbed up and hugged me. I am not sure what I did to deserve these little miracles I call "babe" (Noah) and "baby" (Annie), but there is nothing I could be more grateful for in the world.

Another Kid?
For those who haven't figured it out yet, we are having another baby. I know we swore that we were done with kids, but I guess there were other plans. This baby is due in November, but may come a little early. His name will be Cooper, however we have not come up with a middle name yet. Because I gave Noah and Annie their middle names, I am letting Pete decide the middle name for Cooper. I am putting a lot of trust in him, though. His middle name may end up being something like... Festus.
Noah's first day of preschool
Today was Noah's first day of Preschool. He turned four about 3 months ago, and he and I were both ready for him to go. We set out to find a Diego backpack last weekend, and spent some time shopping for his "supplies" which strangley enough included a can of shaving cream. He was so excited to go, and didn't care when Annie and I left, however when I picked him up after school he was in tears. Apparently, he didn't want to put his toys away and come home. He keeps asking when he gets to go back, so it's a good thing he will be going three days a week.
