Ireland and The City of Dingle.

Day 5:  We had originally planned to visit the Ring of Kerry today, which is a HUGE loop along the coast of the island.  We'd heard some amazing things about it, but the more we researched it, the scarier it got.  There would only be enough room for two cars going in opposite directions to drive, and most of the time it was over run by buses.  There were no barriers between us and the cliffs.  And we knew of one couple who lost their mirror to a tour bus on their trip.  And driving on the wrong side of the road just added to our fear.  We really wanted to make it home to see our kids, so we opted for a safer  drive.

We left our B&B and set out to the city of Dingle (go ahead, laugh.  It's a funny name).
Of course we had to pull over to see all sorts of cool things... like mini water falls...

... and awesome lakes...

... and the pose....

I love this view.

We made it to the coast just as the sun came out from behind the clouds.

And this is the city of Dingle.

There is a dolphin that lives in the harbor named Fungi, so of course there needs to be a statue of him.

We were there during the Dingle Races (this made Pete laugh all day) and we were worried it would get in the way of our trip, but saw no signs of any races, other than these, um... signs.

This is my "I don't know why I'm standing next to a giant penguin" face.

This is St. Joseph's Convent and Diseart.  We came here to see the most famous stained glass windows in Ireland, but sadly it was closed.

So we ate lunch instead. Open faced shrimp and crab sandwiches.  Oh. My. Gosh. Amazing.

Look at my raccoon eyes.  I still can't believe we got sunburned in Ireland.
